Playa Bowls across the nation have teamed up with Move For Hunger in an effort to reduce food insecurity throughout the United States, providing over 45,000 meals for food insecure communities.
The superfruit bowl shop has 145 participating locations where customers are encouraged to bring in donations of non-perishable foods, such as instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, and canned vegetables, to help provide holiday meals for their neighbors in need. Customers were also asked to support our hunger relief and food rescue programs nationwide by making a monetary donation at the register.
Additionally, throughout the week of November 13th-19th, Playa Bowls will be donating the proceeds of the Pumpkin Pie Smoothie to Move For Hunger!
More than 1,150lbs of donations were raised during the food drive, providing 960 meals to those in need across the United States. From the fundraiser, nearly $20,000 was donated, equalling over 44,800 meals for food insecure communities!
