With 2,000+ participating properties, our network helped provide more than 134,199 meals to communities in need.

Our Board Members and team are an integral part of creating innovative and sustainable solutions in the fight against hunger. We have some of the most passionate, creative, and talented individuals working with us to fight hunger and food waste.

Over 1,150 moving companies have made food recovery a part of their operations. In 2022, they collected and transported 3.7 million lbs. of food, providing over 3 million meals.

Our events continued to be a major focus and financial support for Move For Hunger. We hosted nearly 900 food drives, grew our annual Move 2 Fight Hunger Challenge, & organized more than 25 team-building events with some of the nation's leading corporations.

Our partners are made up of socially responsible companies and organizations that provide Move For Hunger with the support we need to grow our network and scale our impact.

In 2022, our Fresh Food Program recovered over 1 million pounds of food just this year, providing fresh food to those in need coast to coast.

We had a rockin' good time at the Local Fix Foundation's 4th annual Rocktoberfeast, where Move For Hunger was the chosen beneficiary!

Dear Friends,
I’m thrilled to share that 2022 was our most impactful year EVER! I am beyond grateful to my incredible team that finds ways to do the impossible. They helped deliver more than 5.4 million lbs. of food to food banks across the U.S. & Canada. And not only that - they made it look easy!
The issues of food waste and food insecurity are complicated. On one hand, 28% of the world’s farmable land grows food that will never be eaten. Coupled with the fact that 1 in 8 kids in the United States goes to bed on an empty stomach, it becomes very clear that we are not utilizing our resources effectively. In fact, if we were to recover just half of all the food wasted in the US each year, you’d be able to provide every hungry American 3 meals a day – every day.
But sadly, that is not our reality.
2022 was a year of connection and thinking forward. It was absolutely amazing to get back on the road and see so many familiar faces – movers, multifamily leaders, mobility professionals, sustainability and food waste warriors, friends in food banking, partners, donors, and volunteers. I missed you, and I hope I didn’t hug you all too hard when we finally were able to reunite in-person.
Additionally, our Board of Directors came together for a two-day retreat to do some vision planning as we set our sights on the organization’s next 5 years. It was an incredible experience that encouraged us to rethink the way we operate and better prioritize the things that matter most.
So, what’s next?
Move For Hunger will have a much larger focus delivering fresh food to communities who need it most. I’m proud to announce that we nearly tripled the amount of fresh food we were able to recover in 2022 – a number we expect to grow pretty significantly in 2023!
We also hope to find even more ways to get YOU involved in our work too. So, please, keep reading our emails, sharing our social media posts, organizing events, making donations, participating in team-building activities, and reaching out with your ideas! We appreciate every single one of you that continues to show enthusiasm for our work.
We can’t do it without you!
Thank you so much, and here’s to another great year of serving those in need.

At the first truck pull of 2022, Move For Hunger came to Atlanta for HD Supply’s Leadership Conference.

Armbruster Moving and Storage and the Greater Lakes Relocation Council hosted a truck pull, raising over 53,000 meals for those in need.
