Move For Hunger works with 1,200+ professional moving companies across the US & Canada.
Each day, they educate their customers about the issues of hunger and food waste facing their communities and encourage their customers to set aside any unopened, non-perishable food items that they don’t want to take with them. Then, on moving day, they pack up their donations and deliver them to the local food bank or pantry, free of charge.

More than 47 million Americans face hunger every day.
Meanwhile, we are wasting 38% of the food we produce each year. By providing people with the opportunity to donate their food when they move, we believe we can eliminate food waste during the relocation process. Why is that important? Because 33 million Americans move every single year. If we recovered just 1 pound of food from each of them, we’d be able to provide 27.5 million meals to families struggling with food insecurity.
