Move For Hunger Invades the Nation’s Capital, Lays Siege on Hunger
On April 20, The Capital Bocce League is partnering with Move For Hunger to hold the first annual Bocce For Hunger tournament at Wallenberg Park near the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Proceeds from the event will support Move For Hunger so that we can continue to fight hunger nation-wide– including in Washington, D.C.
Several hundred bocce players from states far and wide are convening on the hallowed grass of the national lawn to have a great time and roll some balls for hunger. But don’t be deceived: although the tournament is open to all skill levels, and although the main goals of the event are to have fun and raise money, we can expect stiff competition when the nation’s premier Bocce superstars face off in the battle for ultimate glory in the Championship Round.

At the conclusion of the event, the top teams will be crowned with prizes, including a replica Champions League Trophy for the team that makes it all the way to the top. But not all spoils go to the victors. All participants in the tournament are invited to wear their complimentary shirts to Capital Bocce’s after-party at Penn Social! At the after-party, players can expect more friendly competitions and a shot at redemption playing Bocce Ball, Cornhole, and Skeeball, among other activities. In addition, the after-party will feature a live DJ, prize giveaways, the awards ceremony, drinks, and much more!
