THE NEED HAS NEVER BEEN GREATER
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating economic impact and has drastically increased the need for emergency food assistance nationwide. Five million more people in the United States have become food insecure since the start of the pandemic for a total of 42 million food-insecure Americans including 1 in 6 children. Communities with the highest levels of food insecurity before the pandemic, which are overrepresented by counties with a majority Black population, continue to struggle and are seeing the highest rates of food insecurity this year.
22 million meals & counting
Since the start of the pandemic, Move For Hunger has helped transport more meals than ever before, nearly 7 million. We have helped feed people in all 50 states and in Canada in order to help get them back on their feet.
Move For Hunger's network of 1,000+ moving companies is in a unique position to help food banks all across the country during these unprecedented times. Food banks need trucks to deliver supplies to their warehouses and distribution centers.
With a fleet of trucks, experienced drivers, and crews capable of doing the heavy lifting, our network can provide reliable transportation assistance and free up resources for the food banks to use elsewhere. Our team is working every day to connect moving companies that want to help with the food banks who so desperately need it.
