A-1 Moving & Storage and Miami Realtors Help Collect 360 LBS. of Food

As the summer approaches, many people who reside in Florida during the winter begin their annual move back up north, leaving behind many belongings, including plenty of non-perishable food! For the second year in a row, A-1 Moving and Storage of Jupiter, an Atlas Van Lines agent, partnered with JTHS-Miami Association of Realtors to ensure that non-perishable food items were provided to families who need them, instead of sitting in empty homes.

Participating realtors encouraged winter residents to donate all unopened non-perishable food items in their homes before they moved home for the summer. Thanks to the simple act of donating food during a move, more than 360 pounds of food was collected and delivered to the Palm Beach County Food Bank by A-1 Moving & Storage. That's enough to provide 300 meals for their neighbors in need!

This is the second year in a row that JTHS Miami Realtors and A-1 Moving have teamed up to fight hunger in South Florida. More than 500 meals have been provided over the past two years from this event alone. Sadly, more than 3 million people in Florida, including 1 in 5 children, live day-to-day with food insecurity, but, with the help of food drives like this, we can make a difference!

A huge thank you goes out to both A-1 Moving and Storage and JTHS-Miami Association of Realtors for not only raising awareness about hunger in Florida, but for bringing your community together to join our fight against hunger, as well!
