2,500 years ago some guy in Greece thought it was a good idea to run 25 miles to the neighboring city. Ever since then thousands of runners across the country put their endurance to the test every year by replicating his legendary run from the town of Marathon to the city of Athens.

This year Move For Hunger teamed up with the annual New Jersey Marathon to turn the road race into a gigantic food drive and spread awareness about the growing hunger problem in the Garden State. We brought out the Move For Hunger red carpet to capture the all of the runners' achievement and collected food during the expo and on race day.

Thanks to the help from the NJ Marathon team and all the generous participants we were able to collect 2,700 lbs. of food for local food banks. That's enough food to provide 2,130 meals for the those in need.

With Over 110,1570 people struggling to find their next meal in New Jersey alone, it has never been more important to come together for the less fortunate in our community.

The NJ Marathon team showed their true colors by donating an entire pallet of peanut butter which is a perfect, protein packed snack for the food bank.

Each packet of peanut butter has 5 grams of protein and is perfectly suited to be stuffed into the weekend bags for hungry children.
