ENID, Okla. — Emrick’s Van & Storage, an agent of Allied Van Lines, is part of Move For Hunger, and is bringing the fight against hunger to northwest Okla-homa.
Emrick’s, a moving company since 1904, has committed to support the neediest of northwest Oklahoma by collecting nonperishable food items from their customers.
When people move, they often throw out a good deal of stuff. Much of this stuff is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than just left behind.
Emrick’s will collect food items its clients won’t be taking with them, and deliver the items directly to the Loaves and Fishes Regional Food Resource Center.
Move For Hunger is a nonprofit organization that works with moving companies and other members of the relocation industry to combat the growing hunger problem in the United States.
Emrick’s Van & Storage of Enid joins Emrick’s of Oklahoma City and more than 356 moving companies in 44 states in Move For Hunger’s effort to support the hunger-relief operations of food banks all over the country.
“We are so happy to have Emrick’s join the Move For Hunger family for 2012,” said Gavin Christiansen, director of operations at Move For Hunger. “Their commitment to ending hunger will help provide life-saving meals for the most vulnerable in the Enid area.”

Emrick’s is working with a large Enid business for a holiday food drive to help kick off its new partnership with Move For Hunger.
