Fill more than just your stockings this holiday season at the Classic Moving & Storage Fill-A-Truck Drive taking place this January 8, 2012 at the Shop-Rite on Fischer Blvd. in Toms River. The generous team at Classic Moving & Storage will deliver all donations to Ocean County Hunger Relief food pantry at no cost to the organization.

As of 2009, over 70,000 people in Ocean County live on incomes that put them at risk for hunger. With the economy still in a tailspin these numbers are growing everyday. Thousands of Ocean County’s families need your help.

“Everyone thinks about hunger during the holiday season,” says Adam Lowy, executive director of Move For Hunger. “But the truth is that the food banks distribute all the donations from the holidays very quickly and are back struggling for donations once January and February roll around.”

The team from Classic Moving & Storage will brave the cold in the Shop-Rite parking lot from 10 A.M. until 4 P.M. Local residents and Shop-Rite customers are asked to bring any unopened, non- perishable food items they would like to donate to the Classic Moving Truck situated in the lot. While all food items are welcome the most needed items are peanut butter and jelly, instant potatoes, Mac ‘n’ Cheese, canned fruits, beans, canned tuna, canned and dry soups, hot and cold cereals, ready-to-eat meals and anything high in protein.

Classic Moving & Storage is a partner of Move For Hunger, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works with moving companies to collect food items from people who are relocating and deliver the food to local food banks. Since founding in 2009, the Move For Hunger team has delivered over 390,000 lbs. of food to food banks in 37 states.
