Congratulations to Denali Group of Seattle, WA for being named July’s Mover of the Month!

Since joining Move For Hunger in July 2010, Denali Group has collected over 726 pounds of food for the FISH Food Bank of Pierce County.  That’s enough food to provide more than 558 life saving meals to those in need.  Last month alone they donated over 245 pounds of food!!

It is the effort and dedication of our moving partners that continues to allow Move For Hunger to support food banks across the country.  Please join us in congratulating Denali Group on this outstanding achievement!

An interview with Dax Powell and Brian Crockett of the Denali Group

MFH:  How long have you guys been around?

Denali Group has been around for a long time. It was founded back in 1954.

MFH:  What made you join Move For Hunger?

We really just liked the overall program in general.  When we heard about it, it just made sense.   It’s one more thing to add to our presentation to our customers to show we are helping out our local community.

MFH: What has been your most positive experience with Move For Hunger so far?

Well now I guess winning Mover of the Month.  But really, just the actual reception from our customers.  They are very excited to be able to give back so easily, and also just the overall volume we’ve been able to donate.  It’s amazing how much of an impact we can have.

MFH:  What advice can you give to our other movers?

Well, in addition to helping people it’s a great sales tool.  Present it to the customer as a way to support a good cause.  It really sets you apart from the other guys.

MFH: How many pounds of food do you think you can donate next month?

Well we’ve been doing really well lately, so I think we can keep increasing so I think about 260 or 270 pounds!

MFH: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever moved?

Oh boy, let me think… that would have to be a mounted bat from Asia. It probably had close to a 2-2½  ft wing span! This guy had two of them.  It was crazy at first I didn’t think they were real.
