An Interview with Gary Fletcher of City Moving & Storage

MFH: How long have you guys been around?
Gary: “We have been a family owned business since 1960.”
MFH: What made you join Move For Hunger?
Gary: “Well I first heard about Move For Hunger at a Wheaton conference in Florida.  I’ve been a fan ever since. It was just too easy to not do it.  We’re a company that wants to give back to our community anyway.  It was a real no brainer, why anyone wouldn’t want to do it is beyond me.”
MFH: What has been your most positive experience with Move For Hunger so far?
Gary: “It’s a feel good deal for us; we feel like we’re really contributing to someone that’s in need, and there are so many people who are in need. There’s satisfaction in knowing your helping your community.”
MFH: What advice can you give to our other movers?
Gary: “One thing: to commit to it, make it (MFH) a part of your normal procedure.  Put it on all your paperwork and emails.  Everyone in your business should be in on it; everyone from the executives to the packers, to the sales staff and office personnel.  When everyone knows what Move For Hunger is it just works. It’s that easy.”
MFH: How many pounds of food do you think you can donate next month?
Gary: “500 lbs of food is our goal, and one way or another we’re gonna meet that goal, then we’ll go even higher!”
MFH: What is your favorite local restaurant?
Gary: “Bianco’s Italian restaurant. Great Italian Food right here in Lawton!”
