Our Days in the Desert

Our next stop on this 9,000 mile journey was Phoenix, Arizona. As an Arizona State graduate, our Executive Director felt right at home in the Grand Canyon State. If you’ve never been to Arizona before, I definitely recommend making the trip. Arizona is home to some of the most diverse landscapes in America. You can be poolside in 85 degree weather or drive a few hours north to go skiing.

We chose to go for a 3 hour hike in Sedona. We also completely underestimated the physical toll a 3 hour hike in the desert would take on our bodies. The first thing I’m doing when I get home is going straight to the gym!

After we caught our breath, we headed to Phoenix to visit the St. Mary’s Food Bank. Did you know that St. Mary’s Food Bank is actually the first food bank in the entire world?   Their founder revolutionized the way people think about serving the hungry. Take a look at our visit!
